Gus, they may be hitting it on the head. Bush, with all of his powers, could not operate without the backing of a large number of Americans. Not the majority, but perhaps a plurality. One thing he's got going for him is that all of his backers think alike on most issues while his opponents tend to be splintered on individual issues. True, that means the latter can think and the former cannot, but it is nice to have a big bloc of support from the "are they live or are they Memorex" crowd.
