Re: I rather wait for Gustave to answer that one.

Smart boy. Actually, Ted's lengthy and somewhat pointless article adds grist to MY mill --clue:

"[J.-Ch. de Menezes] didn't make a lot of money in England as he was a self-employed electrician. Most of his money went on rent and food. He wanted to stay for another two years to save money so he could come back and invest in a ranch."

As a contractor, you rarely make money when you first move to a new place. After you've been around for a while and if you are good, you start to get referrals which keeps you busy 24/7. At that point, he would have been able to save money for his ranch. Remember the pound goes a hell of lot further in Brazil than London.

Most of the late Menezes' earnings were used up on rent and food. Yet our up-and-coming Brazilian David Copperfield planned to "save money so he could... invest in a ranch" back home!? What money? Let's face it, there ain't two ways around it: Menezes' only chance to stash enough money to fly back home first-class and buy a ranch was to work as a drug mule... buying and selling as many XTC pills as possible.

Sorry, Gustave, Sherlock Holmes you're not. If he was a mule as you suggest, Scotland Yard would have had no problem releasing that info. Accept he was an innocent man who got shot needlessly until you are told otherwise. It will be better for your health. ;~)
