Thanks! I live about four miles from the first Hudson's Bay Company Outpost in my state (opened in 1806 or thereabouts). Every year they have a little encampment with period costumes and implements. I really like it. It's nothing like that video clip, though. Very peaceful.

Once I attended a demonstration by a Civil War group. I was in the audience in the first row. The soldiers lined up in front of me.

"Protect against cavalry!" Was the order. Bayoneted muskets were thrust upwards.

"Protect against troops!" Bayoneted muskets were thrust downwards. Right in my face.

It was a little startling.

You should make all politicians honorary members, but require the above activity 24/7.

Had one of those down the road last year and they kept their horses at our place. Gave us some ginger cookies that were period authentic. Works of art but tasted nasty. Back then they used pepper instead of sugar in the cookies.
