Not being very handy I have long contracted with a local outfit (Broward Factory Service) that guarantees to repair appliance and air conditioning problems for a fixed annual fee. Just checked their bills for the past few years. Wouldn't you know in our new "low inflation" world their fee has increased about 25% over the past 4 years. "Low" inflation is strictly a function of Asian vendor financing IMHO. Inflation is surging for almost everything not facing Asian competition. The NY TIMES carried an article today on how rents are beginning to take off because more and more people are now priced out of the housing market even with absurdly easy credit.
