Good job! At least you are doing your part to get us off the oil. That's pretty amazing what can been done with just careful driving. That's kind of a pain, though. I'm a tyrant on the road. I have to get everywhere fast. Don't know why I'm that way. :) Anyway, my old car gets 20 mpg, but I plan to replace it with either a Prius or a Camry Hybrid. We'll see how fuel efficient the Camry Hybrid is.

re: After several days of driving this way, I have improved mileage from 20 to nearly 25 mpg.

That's great! A little social engineering and Bingo, energy (or at least oil) price crisis over. An 8% decrease on 40% of the US consumption, which is 25% of world consumption is enough to pull the rug out from under the commodity oil market (at least short term).

Of course more aggressive measures are required... but if people start thinking efficiency (not the dreaded conservation)... then we could go back to $25-$30 per barrel.

After several days of driving this way, I have improved mileage from 20 to nearly 25 mpg. I have however noticed that I piss off a lot of people, who often drive around me only to have to break hard ahead for a stop light.

LOL.
