Slag, it's important to try to get the word racist into discussions and the first one to use the word, wins the argument. I claim first usage and therefore victory.

Note that I am not calling you names, which real illiberals and fellow travellers, such as Republicans, would never do, such as "Major league arsehole" [spelled differently in the USA version - Google could probably get you the actual quote]. I am calling your argument racist.

I'm sure some of your best friends are brown, as are mine. I think brown people in general should be treated as fully human. However, I'm not convinced that brown women should be accorded full status, and in New Zealand, even white women have to sit at the back of the marae, with even convicted criminal males sitting in front of them. Which is a lot of fun because women run the country but they have to sit at the back of marae, which causes them some cultural discomfort [they think Maoris are really cool and deserve lots of money from taxpayers then they bump up against that sort of stuff since Maori culture is a little different from civilized ways of life].
