UMDNY Claims Missing Papers Were Stolen

The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey said Thursday it now believes that no files sought by investigators were stolen during a break-in.
``After a thorough investigation of reports about missing documents following the break-in that occurred during the last weekend in July, we have concluded with a high degree of confidence, that no documents requested of UMDNJ by any outstanding subpoena are missing due to the break-in. Documents responsive to the subpoenas had been removed to a secure location before the time of the break-in,'' the school said in a statement.
The statement came a week after UMDNJ President John Petillo told The Star-Ledger of Newark that the theft of documents sought by investigators appeared to be ``an inside job.''
No arrests have been made in the break-in, said a spokesman for the FBI's Newark office, Special Agent Steve Siegel, who added that the bureau could not confirm reports that it is investigating the school.
The country's largest freestanding health sciences university has said it has been complying with FBI subpoenas issued in June seeking records of all political donations it made since 2000.
Investigators also are interested in millions of dollars in no-bid contracts the school awarded to politically connected firms. A similar probe has been started by the State Commission of Investigation, a bipartisan arm of the state Legislature.

What's that smell?

If we don't look at the stolen papers, how do we know they are not relevant? And where was Sandy Berger on the night in question?

Quit taking a slain soldier's name in vain to try and defend a corrupt and dishonest president. Even if you believe Bush-Cheney are OK, you cannot possibly claim they weren't the worst war planners in US history, thus the most incompetent commanders in chief. They deserve to impeached for about 20 reasons. And yes their policies got a lot of people needlessly killed, including Casey probably, though I don't know the circumstancs of his death.

The rightwing attacking Sheehan makes every liberal war protester look like a courageous righteous Christian patriot versus a bunch of dishonest creeps. Keep it up. it will help end the war sooner. There's no way you creeps are going to spin Sheehan into a villain or some Jane Fonda type. She's not. She's the real deal.

58% disapprove of Bush. His approvals have gone from 55% to 35% in six months thanks to the Iraq War boondoggle, Terri Schiavo, Rovegate and the gas gouging corruption. It's getting very hard to defend Bush on any level.

We just hate the immoral people that are pulling this once great country down into a cesspool of lies and death.
