I was one of those guilty of skipping over that first post because it was so long, but have gone back and read the whole thing. After a few paragraphs, I was hooked. The writing was direct, clear, and honest- coupled with the material which was, of course, gripping- unbeatable combination. It's very hard to write with that kind of ego-less honesty and courage. I read the article on the thread, and was so suprised when I went to the pictures and saw that Kurilla, whom I had somehow pictured as this grizzled, battle-hardened older man, was so young. And the picture of the soldier shielding Kurilla's eyes from the sun was touching. Thanks for keeping after us about Michael Yon. He's definitely worth reading.
