Ole Rummie was telling Saddam he had to stop killing the Kurds or Reagan wouldn't sell him any more WMDs. And then later they planned the Iraqi war against Iran.

In other words, it was just business as usual for the GOP.

Rummy got sloppy seconds in a "rape room", just a traditional Baathist courtesy. To refuse would have been to insult Saddam.
