You suggested I explain "similar" or "worse"

Explanation of "similar" first. Hitler appealed to the Germans and to German pride. He created a war hysteria in Germany. He did not care what the other nations had to say. He did what he wanted to do. He did indeed have a superior firepower. Can you see the US in a similar situation.

Bush's appeal to 52% of the Americans that they back him. Anyone opposed to him is finished politically or personally (Cindy Sheehan, CIA agent Plame, Bill Frist, Chuck Hagel, Senator Voinovich, Senator Frist, Senator McCain etc.) Bush does not care what the other nations of the world have to say. He rather stick it to thme, example Mr. Bolton's appointment to the UN. And so on.

The meaning or "worse" A nuclear holocaust is what I mean.

The enemy is not Saddam. The enemy is the Al Qaeda whose leadership is in Afghanistan and not Iraq. Past US Presidents, Repubs and Dems alike did not want take Saddam out. They wanted him to remain in Iraq and contain him.
