Thanks, Nadine. I appreciate your expression of concern.

I have just been in touch with two of my friends, a doctor and his family and an Air Force Colonel, via cell phone. They are on the way to Houston. Others I was not able to reach because of system overloads.

I have family in Mobile. So far, Mobile seems to be relatively safe when compared to NO. But if Katrina swings East (as hurricanes have done in the past), then Mobile and Pensacola would be more endangered.

So far, family in Mobile are sitting tight, based on the latest advisories.
