Andrew also was much smaller and only hit one populated area south of Miami. This one is much bigger and could devastate many populated areas inland as well for hundreds of miles. One hope is a significant weakening similar to Ivan which was also a CAT 5 at one time last year as it moved into cooler water near the coast. But Ivan was never near 175mph and conditions weren't as favorable in mid September.
