About 15 years ago we had a wet summer in the Midwest, lots of flooding, the Illinois River ran backward. Around Havana, Illinois the ground is sand and the water table is only 16' down. That year the water table came up 18' making for flood conditions all summer. Old coffins popped up out of the ground.
