Fargo has been on local basic cable recently (sanitized for daytime viewing), so I recognized the line. Black comedies need dark subjects for their plots, but they have plenty of humorous treatments. All the characters in Fargo are off-beat and the dialogue is punctuated with incongruous homespun expressions.

Speaking of the genre, have you ever seen Kind Hearts and Coronets? It's a very watchable black comedy made in 1949 which has as its tagline, "A hilarious study in the gentle art of murder."

Apologies to the thread for the OT.
