ted, have you ever seen pics of Islamorada (Middle keys, FL) after the Labor Day Hurricane 1935? One of three cat 5 hurricanes only ever to hit the US so far? Mind that same Hurricane was fully unpredicted and hit right on almost from a blue sky on a sunny day.

It also removed much of the Key West railway only finished back in 1912.

I guess you have seen "Key Largo", the movie. It was filmed down there 2-3 years later, still a perfect background for such a movie then.
