Perhaps we ALL will be grateful to President Bush for not squandering our strategic reserve in a hopeless cause.

That's not the problem. It's the destruction of refining capacity that's going to put a major hurt on our economy. Not just gasoline, but heating oil for the northern states this winter is in danger of being in very short supply...

if those refineries are damaged oil supply will not help matters if several refineries stay down very long.
