Some elements of education are like brainwashing. I happen to think they are useful techniques (just as they are in the military). We may not be able to use stress and deprivation in education (well, maybe a little stress, in the discipline end of things), but at least in the elementary grades we do use emotional controls, and endless repetition for control of behavior.

It's close. It's not taking them out of their environment, and having them 24/7, and being able to deprive them of sleep and yell at them, but in education we have them for longer- so it's still possible to program students (thank goodness, because they'd be total behavior problems if we couldn't).

Why do you think the people on this thread who've been through military training dispute the brainwashing opinion you are pushing? It's because their bootcamp experience brainwashed them for life, I suppose?
