I've watched a little TV and there have been a number of full school buses leaving town ... must be poor people (not kids).

I think the local government has acted responsibly. Whether they had an adequate plan is a different story.

Is is a coincidence most of those pictured on line at the Superdome appeared to be the poorest of the poor mostly black long time residents living in substandard housing in the city and not the party animals of the French Quarter? I heard one report of officials going through the French Quarter encouraging those riding out the storm to move up to the highest floor possible.
