I suppose your notion of "self-defense" includes the first Gulf War and all those scuds. You are out of touch, IMHO.

You are dreaming of the highly unlikely notion that Saddam wouldn't work for more 911's. His guy praised 911, and promised more to come. All I've said about Saudis training on a fuselage in Iraq remains in evidence. Had we done nothing in Iraq nor Afghanistan (as Sheehan might seem to wish), the long term odds of devastating attack would be worse, no doubt. In short, as you well know, to attack for oil would be crazy (and so believe it, it hasn't happened here, quite naturally).
