According to Rummy, he's already offered his resignation twice. All Bush has to do is accept one. There'll always be some eager suckup with delusions of grandeur who wants to play with the world's most powerful military. If Rummy get's canned, they'll be a line for the job.

As for Rummy knowing where the bodies are buried, I'm sure it cuts both ways. Tenet must have had a ton of mud, as CIA Director. He took his Medal Of Freedom and dropped off the face of the earth. I wonder what they have on HIM?

Rummy and Cheney are a legendary Washington infighting pair, going back to the Ford administration, when Rumsfeld and Cheney out-infought Henry Kissinger, because Kissinger was too "moderate" on the detente thing. Colin Powell never had a chance.

I can't imagine W ditching Rumsfeld any more than W ditching Cheney. I think Rumsfeld, like Rove, is pretty safely ensconced in W's personal buck-free zone.
