Yes, well, I don't think your energy goes over very well here. Nothing personal, but when you threaten to off someone because they don't agree with you, you are not a very effective representative of the U.S. military.

I also think you totally misunderstood what the discussion was about (as did some of our regular posters). The people here who were discussing boot camp and special forces training in relationship to brainwashing made it clear that brainwashing is probably necessary to turn someone into a soldier who can kill people.

This is not something most of us learn growing up. All your instincts on how to behave well are turned upside down when you are a soldier. The inhibitions you have been taught as you were reared by your parents all must disappear. Scholarly papers on the subject have been posted here this evening, in fact. I have no idea how you turn this into an attempt to demonize our armed forces, specifically.

This is kind of an intellectual thread, and while I understand that some of you guys have been soldiers and are very easily upset by discussions like this, I think you are taking it the wrong way. No one is suggesting that former soldiers are all mindless blobs or didn't make contributions to our safety and huge sacrifices for their country. It's more of a discussion about psychology and how to change individuals into a cohesive group very quickly.
