Thanks to BRAC By jkelly we have a fascinating situation in Pennsylvania. Here in Pittsburgh, the Base Realignment and Closure commission spared the 911th Military Airlift Wing at Pittsburgh International Airport, but took away its airplanes. In Philadelphia -- thanks to a ruling of a federal judge who said teh Pentagon may not shut down an Air National Guard unit without the governor's consent -- we have a fighter wing that no longer has an air base. The home of the the 111th Tactical Fighter Wing, an A-10 outfit, the Naval Air Station at Willow Grove, is going to be shut down. It'll be fascinating to see how all this works out.
