The real shame is how hurtful these assertions are to the loved ones of service men and women KIA, not only in this war but all the wars that preceded it. These "brainwashing" accusations not only speak to the futility of those who gave their lives in service to their country, but portray all service men and women as hapless dupes and rubes easily manipulated into becoming mindless homicidal monsters. The most outspoken posters here never experienced basic training themselves, but denigrate the opinions of those who have. It would be equivalent to me telling a woman who has had an abortion that she doesn't know what she's talking about, and that I know a lot more than she does from what I have read. I wonder how that would go over here.
