Hopefully the hard questions get asked going forward once the Katrina story subsides:
Are these higher water temperatures permanent?
Are we now in a period of constant life threatening hurricanes in the southeast during August and September?
What is the government going to do about it?
Is there now going to be a shift in population growth patterns as people now might believe last year was not a fluke?

I was just watching CNN.

Aaron Brown was interviewing Jean Meserve on the telephone. She was on the ground in New Orleans going out on rescue missions. She was clearly very choked up by the experience. She described the cries of people who were trapped but rescuers were unable to get to, dogs wrapped in live wires being electrocuted, and the overall devastation.
