I have a 2x burner, but don't really want to spend the money on 2x media just for periodic backups.

Also, one of the files is over 18GB and pretty soon would span at least three 2x DVDs, and that's after being compressed to the max. It is a single database backup zipped.

I'm going to have to find a way to span DVDs or break the file into 4.7GB segments and use a utility to reassemble it. That is an option since I have a utility that creates a custom executable for the purpose of reassembling the file, but I'd need a lot of extra hard disk space and time to go through that step, both on the burn and any subsequent restore.
