My mom told me that they estimated schools would not be back in session for at least 2 months. That professor was probably smoking something if he thinks two weeks.

Tonite on the national news, they said that Tulane is considering closing for the quarter. And the mayor said if a third levee fails, NO will be out of commission for three months, two months if the levee holds. So yeah, I think the Tulane professor was delusional or doing some drug.

I have never seen such devastation from a natural disaster......I think it may be the worse in American history.

One of the owners of a casino in Biloxi lives here. He said tonite that there is no way they will rebuild. None of the casinos are insured because they are built in a hurricane designated area. That makes it very likely that other casino owners will not rebuild either.

Frankly, I don't get what the state of Mississippi was doing when they made the casinos be build over water. The fact that was structures were floating on water instead of secured by a foundation into the ground allowed them to be more easily carried by the storm surge which caused even more damage. Do you know what was the state's reasoning for having the casinoes built over the water?
