That is so dang sad, CB, that I find there are tears of sorrow, and tears of anger welling.... WHERE were the city leaders, the county/parish leaders, and the State leaders, when it came to Civil Defense plans??? Was there NO plan to use buses to get people who didn't have a car or couldn't afford other transportation out? Are ALL our major cities in the US in this mess when it comes to Civil Defense? Or is there a Civil Defense organization any longer? Is it all under the umbrella of Homeland Security? When did people stop trying to plan for themselves, and just let the "government" do it for them? Was it back in FDR days, and then just perpetuated by the generations of people who didn't want to accept any personal responsibility?
