Why don't you read all the scholarly articles and first-hand accounts that Ionesco and I posted about brainwashing techniques in the military?

Inonesco's post #107873, 08/28/05,provides these examples which I assume are the cream of the crop of these "scholarly articles and first-hand accounts":

"From Moral Individuals to Obedient Recruits: If They Survive," by Teresa Whitehurst, clinical psychologist, author of "Jesus and Parenting" and co-author of "The Non-violent Christian Parent" Article posted on Antiwar.com

"The Battle for Your Mind," by Dick Sutphen, "extended version of a talk I delivered at the World Congress of Professional Hypnotists Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada"

"Can't Hack Boot Camp," filed under opinion by "Jason" on Ahoyhoy.org,(appears to be a blog)

Are these representative of the scholarly articles you are referring to?

I read the post by ionescu. Not impressive. Only one source was a clinical psychologist, which doesn't mean much. There is lots of gobbledygook in the social sciences.

I don't believe for a minute that if military personnel as a group were overwhelmingly liberal in social outlook, as opposed to voting for Bush 3:1 in the last election, that you or ionescu would be arguing they are "brain-washed".

"intended as any kind of an insult" Intended as an insult or not, I thought the brain-washing issue came up to dismiss the support of the troops serving today in their mission.
