I've done an incredible amount of camping in several western states. Have 1/2 a camping cookbook composed and need to add more as my repertoire has grown. Went from simple camp fire cooking, creating grills and ovens with rocks, to propane stove cooking to a real oven/stove combo.

When I graduated from a 50# backpack (will never forget a college buddy that used to catch trout in high mt streams with his hands) to tent camping I always compartmentalized my cooler. Graduated to an icebox in a 15' '71 Shasta to a real refrigerator and always used cardboard for insulation. The thicker the better to insulate block ice on the bottom. I made science out of compartmentalizing with cardboard. Could stretch that ice for days.

Also got creative with the copious amounts of moss that is available........made whole carpets, mats and dog beds out of the stuff.

You would have loved the gourmet meals I prepared...and still do......anyone would. -gg-
