sandintoes, the airport in New Orleans has been cleared for emergency traffic. As best I can tell from the news reports, the Superdome is still in deep water. I cannot imagine getting 25,000-plus people from New Orleans to Houston (or any other place) on buses. There are food and restrooms on the airplanes too.

Something I hesitate to mention but please be advised that some of these people may need acute medical attention. The sooner they can be evacuated from New Orleans, the better. As has been reported on the news, New Orleans and other points south are quickly becoming very unhealthy and unsafe places to be in. These people need to be evacuated as quickly and expeditiously as humanly possible, IMNSHO.

BTW, excellent advice to RDW. I certainly hope she can use it to her benefit. The news media, for all their faults <g>, are also trying to help people connect with loved ones. - Holly
