Your post makes it clear that you consider "anger" to be inappropriate behavior. Actually, anger flows from hurt and fear. Feelings such as anger, grief, pain, remorse, joy, etc. are all too human. In the world of social 3d interaction ANGER is not a transgression anymore than is JOY. Society does not restrict the freedom of people per their "feelings". I think that analogies can be useful; but they can also be misleading. Freedom of speech or difference of opinion is not "poop". Most people are somewhat put off by poop. But cultivated people can handle anger as a natural human feeling. As well, they can handle (and even esteem) free expression. A difference of opinion is NOT "dog poop". The most enjoyable aspect of dining is the sharing of diverse points of view and the seeking after truth. It is ok to share food and it is ok to share opinion. Galileo sure was spreading a lot of POOP--according to some! "It's a good thing, imo, to have tools that give people choices." When you go to a food court where people are expressing LAWFUL (TOU) opinion within your hearing it is YOU who leave if you are too sensitive or too close-minded to bear it. YOU do not kick ALL of these lawful citizens out because you consider their opinions to be "poop". You have no authority. I like the opinions of Asparagus. What gives you the moral authority to silence him? Toad likes the opinion of Tomato Head. What gives you the moral authority to silence him? Just because YOU think Asparagus, Tomato, Lettuce, and Cauliflower are "POOP"....it does not make it so. Why should 50 or a hundred people be prevented from listening to the wit and wisdom of Asparagus just because you think it is POOP--which you simply REFUSE to EAT? I an not trying to be rough on you. I respect you. But you CAN NOT READ...can't you?? If you "think" something is "POOP" you can leave the food court. You don't ask everyone else to leave when they are legally eating pork chops. "Poop" is defined in the TOU. What is NOT "POOP" is freedom of expression. And nobody forces ANYONE to read that for heaven's sake! :-) How many posts do I read on SI? VERY FEW! How many do I have on "ignore"...NONE!! If people in the food court are disturbing my peace of mind, I leave. If they are abusing their freedom of speech or behavior, I can call the authorities. But I NEVER manipulate the system to get INNOCENT people kicked out, just because they have opinions--and because their opinions are (according to me)--POOP!
