Powershares Wilder Hill Clean Energy ETF
9/2/2005 4:03 PM EDT

Robert Wilder, from the Wilder Hill Clean Energy Index, captured in the PowerShares Wilder Hill ETF (PBW:Amex), was just on CNBC saying that his fund has seen assets double in the last couple of weeks to $110 million.

There is a potential issue to be aware of of. The largest component of the fund is Capstone Turbine (CPST:Nasdaq), which has a $400 million cap. Some of the other bigger names in the fund are Energy Conversion Devices (ENER:Nasdaq) with $1.1 billion, Distributed Energy Systems (DESC:Nasdaq) with $241 million, Impco Technologies (IMCO:Nasdaq) with $206 million and UQM Technologies (UQM:NYSE) with $97 million.

Increased demand for the concept (alternative energy) may distort the components of the PBW ETF. Just a heads up.
