Yeah, we used to be into hiking but the ole legs aint what they used to be. Maybe I am just getting lazy. haha. No, never baked a cake but I have seen people make ovens out of aluminum foil and bake things. Myself, when I was a hiker I carried nothing but matches. Used to take about 3 layers of tin foil, lay down a row of sliced potatoes, then a row of onions, then carrots, then ground beef patty, then repeat the rows on top, wrap it up, freeze it. Put it in my pack, when it became time to eat, built a fire, through the bundled food in and in a half hour or so had a really great tasting meal. Required nothing at all in the way of an icechest. jdn
