But then Bush tried to paint Iraq as a primary Al Qaeda supporter. As recently as his speech two days ago he was still mentioning Iraq and 9/11 in the same sentences.

When Bush talked he got caught up in his lies, or in his boasts, so Karl quit letting him talk without a teleprompter and a friendly audience. That did not make his implications any more true.
