I have had the very same thoughts watching those images. I remember during the "perfect storm" some years ago that a Coast Guardsman lost his life being lowered from a helicopter into the churning Atlantic to rescue people from a sinking yacht. He went in with several others who completed the rescue, but he was swept away. I guess only "brainwashing" makes someone willing to put their lives on the line for strangers. We should definitely put a stop to such foolhardiness, don't you think?
