that is good news, RDW....i'm so glad to hear that you are able to make contact with the proper authorities....

and that soon you will be getting word on your dad

we're all pulling for you both and anxious to hear along with you as soon as you get definitive information

my daughter just told me her boyfriend is being sent to NO tomorrow to fly search and rescue missions....she said he could be gone anywhere from just a few days up to a month

RDW,

"everyone

"your posts are helpful and give comfort"

It's the very least we can do and wish we could do more.

Please do continue to let us know what is going on with your getting your father out of the area.

FWIW, I have it on good authority and from a highly reliable, personal source, that if your father is evacuated to to Houston, things will be light years better than they are in the flood zones. Also, you and he will be free to contact each other, and you both can go forward from there with whatever plans you want to make. - Holly

It's so good to hear that you've made such major progress.

I have to say, though, that I'm a bit disappointed in Governor Blanco...stamping her little feet and saying "I'm just furious". Oh yeah, that'll get things done. That'll scare the looters right out of the city. In a joint interview Senator Landrieu had to bail her out of the tough questions.

Sorry. I'm frustrated and had to vent. It's tough watching all this. I can't even imagine how much I have to magnify my own frustration to compare it to yours. I'm so sorry for what you're going through and so glad you've made such terrific headway in tracking down your Dad.

Continued good luck.
