What I'd like to see is our government stop giving aid altogether. I don't think it should be a function of gov't to give aid to other countries. We have generous enough citizens that give 10 times what our own gov't gives anyway. What our gov't should be doing is focusing on our own very real problems.

Giving aid to a country is a great way to get a country to institute reforms and do other changes that the donor gov't thinks is good.
