Thanks for the info. Another question....I looked last night to even see what they looked like....I had thought maybe the levees were something mechanical that worked something like our own Locks between fresh water and Puget Sound do....But the levees look just like slanted pieces of ground tapped down and are to keep the water at bay....appear to be like a slanted retaining wall. Is this right? If so, what needs to be done to maintain them? Do they erode?
