Another question to think about is ...How much money is going to be wasted when they start rebuilding it?

Full or even partial restoration seems of questionable judgement to me. The insurance companies will have to pay but they can't be forced to continue coverage. If they refuse to insure in the future, who will rebuild?

hell no. But I think insurance will get off cheap. Most people don't carry flood insurance and the insurance co's will label the damage as flood, not hurricane.
