What's up, LePolv, Thanks for pointing that out. I assume that abstract shares the sentiments expressed in the essay to some degree, simply because he saw fit to post it without comment. I have no problem with anyone expressing their opinions, and have no problem with him doing so here or anywhere he chooses. Disagreement need not be personal. those are the sentiments of E.L. Doctorow. i agree, they're a little harsh A little? Mr. Doctorow lost me with his suggestion that Mr. Bush has no capacity for emotion over the deaths of our troops. That smug accusation strikes me as intellectual hysteria worthy of our friend Bonnuss, a level to which much of our political discourse has descended. Frankly, that alone is the reason I normally try to avoid discussions of political topics on S.I. (a practice that I obviously violated this time but will resume now). Oh well . . .
