Obviously some people are profiting from this. They are exploiting an opportunity presented to them courtesy of our Government’s policies. The market has been encumbered with excessive regulations and taxes. In this environment the industry has made decisions that made economic sense to them but have left the country vulnerable to supply disruption. If you want to be angry at someone, be angry at your elected leaders who have in effect instituted a transfer of wealth from your pocket to the energy industry. The proper policy response is NOT to punish the industry we need to work us out of this jam. The proper policy response is to back off and let the market work its magic.
