It's possible somebody bought it from him and then sold it back at a yard sale or something. We lived six miles out of town down there, and whenever we had a yard sale he would be the first one there. He would buy up stuff for his store, like an old broken pair of snowshoes that I had.

My wife loves to go to that store. She finds little treasures that she can recreate in a different form and make a fine thing out of it.

Mike has a good sense of humor. He has little signs around that say things like "Prices not negotiable. Nobody wants inexpensive junk."
