And where do you think they are depositing their excrement?

That water isn't safe or even close to it.

They"ll get sick if they drink it and then the will surely die of dehydration due to vomiting and the trotskies.

Well, you could try to boil it, of course that only takes care of infectious organisms, not toxic chemicals. Ditto using bleach to treat the water. Or you could drink your own urine, in a pinch. There's always the top tank of the toilet (provided you haven't flushed), or filling the bathtub (you're supposed to do that before the storm hits, of course). There are *always* alternatives....none are very attractive but its survival.....
