I have no relatives nor friends in the disaster area, but like you I am experiencing the urge to go do something. If my situation permitted, I would. My primary responsibility is to my own family, and if I abdicate that things will go to hell here for a trivial amount of benefit to the suffering victims, or none. My family's needs are such that I have no business anywhere else, so I'm staying right where I am. I heard that Walmart already kicked loose a million dollars. Only 40,000 times that much might do the trick.
