Good point about the oil firms (like Exxon)...they have been making RECORD PROFITS in the last several years...I admire some of the large companies that are "making donations" to help the Katrina victims...Yet, we see the largest drug company in the world - Pfizer - announce they will donate $2 million (according to CNN this morning)...that might sound like a lot BUT this company makes more than $2 BILLION in profits every quarter...You would think their foundation might be able to donate a little more than that.

The problem isn't oil supply it is refining capacity .. the gulf coast refiners took enormous losses so I doubt they will have much in the way of excess profits.

Would make sense for refiners who weren't impacted by it and are boosting prices, though.
