This is the worst disaster recovery effort I've ever heard of. It's unbelievable they didn't drop-off airborn supplies. I agree its horrible. At the core is the lack of national guard though, and the govt's unwillingness to admit that these guys are deployed in Iraq. The elections are over so there is no need to skirt this topic, just tell it like it is and make plans, imho. As for bay area gas, its still $3-$310 at arco, I just filled up. But the union 76s and Chevrons are up to $3.25 now. I decided to buy a Prius for my next car.
