The Price Of Partisanship

By Rob on Domestic Issues
Say Anything

As I look at all the foolish partisan rhetoric that has been spewed across the internet by the left in these last few Katrina-dominated days I can’t help but be disgusted. Every major leftist political blogger on the internet has largely eschewed coverage of disaster relief in favor of petty attempts to harvest political hay by twisting Bush’s policies, be they foreign, economic or environmental, into causes for this disaster. The mainstream Democratic party is even engaging in this kind of nonsense on their official blog.

Its nauseating. It really is.

Isn’t the nation supposed to unite in times of crisis and tragedy? Its almost as if these people couldn’t contain their glee at having another perceived opportunity to stick it to the current administration past the time of national reaction and mourning.

Nope, they don’t let anything get in the way of some primo political point-scoring.

Americans, mark this occasion down and remember it. Remember who, when the chips were down, was more interested in twisting matters to fit their political agenda than helping make the situation right again.

Update:

At least Bill Clinton is willing to show a little class on this subject.
