That was our grand and glorious guv, the estimable shoot first and ask questions later, Rick Perry. Seems he reasoned that the Dome can sit 70k or so for a game, so it would be a snap to house 24k. Given that he didn't actually talk to someone who might actually know, he made the offer. When the city got actual experts to put together a plan, they decided the actual number that could be housed is somewhat lower. For one, people, sadly, like to sleep in a prone position, thus eating into available space...


Its unbelievable to me that a mistake of this magnitude could have been made. While Perry did not look to be the brightest and we know who is predecessor was, I never thought that they were capable of screwing up so badly. And they wonder why the mayor of NO is furious.

Of course, Perry is a Republican. And faith-based.

Yeah, and you notice how the Euro and American trash on this thread have no comment when it comes to Perry and any other good ole boy GOPer who might be missing a clue or two.
