We have essentially become a corporate state, our policies in Iraq and response to New Orleans bear this out. You see, from the ivory towers of Corporate America the situation in New Orleans is little different from what they tollerate each and every day in American inner cities and in their client 3rd world states around the world. They are only now responding because the situation has spun out of control and the public is demanding a response. Kerry only lost by 3%, we only need to wake a few percentage of the American people up to the negative direction this country is moving in to change the electoral landscape. Katrina and New Orleans are doing just that. I can't see the Republicans winning in 2008. Big MO and OH would almost certainly go Democratic if these trends held up. All the Democrats need is a moderate candidate and they will walk right into the White House in 2008.
