Look, even if you think Bush is the Second Coming, walks on water, and so forth, that doesn't mean that the federal government can do no wrong. Canadians might not need passports but I don't think they just let airplanes with search-and-rescue teams and trained cadaver dogs through without some sort of approval. Nobody said they remained on the tarmac forever, only that their entry was delayed due to chaos at Homeland Security. Knowing people who work for TSA, that agency is always in chaos, even when there is no crisis. If you don't think Condi Rice should have stayed at her post in order to make executive decisions, that's your prerogative. Me, I didn't even celebrate my birthday due to not feeling like partying when people are dying. Not accepting any invitations to social events until the chaos is under control. I don't fiddle while Rome burns, and I am not even in charge.
